Alaskan Sampler - Taiga
Taiga - A Russian term applied to areas of stunted tree growth near the Arctic Circle or at higher elevations with short, cool growing seasons and long, cold winters.  White and black spruce are the most common trees.  Dwarf birch, blueberry and willow grow in the open areas, and the woods are carpeted with mosses and lichen.
